First go to settings and disable (uncheck) the option "Delete APK post-install"

Install / download an app. Go to download list, press the app in the list until the options appear at the bottom of the screen, then click on "save app bundle". Now, instead of ".zip" the "app bundle" will be saved with the correct extension ".𝗮𝗽𝗸𝘀".
